The Mom Market brings free Family Fun Day to Hamilton

One of Hamilton’s newest organizations uplifting local businesses has a family-friendly market coming up that you shouldn’t miss.
Originally founded in 2019 to support small businesses of all kinds in their growth and now expanded to over 30 Canadian cities, The Mom Market Hamilton will be hosting Family Fun Day on February 18th from 10 am to 3 pm at the Ancaster Fairgrounds, completely free to attend for all ages.
True to its name, this special pop-up market is ‘not just for moms’, featuring a wide variety of local and regional vendors as well as a whole bunch of fun – and free! – activities for the entire family to enjoy according to Cassandra Lyons, The Mom Market Hamilton’s market director.
“I anticipate this will be our biggest market yet, so it is very exciting!” Lyons says.
A collection of 50 small businesses will be on hand offering everything from art pieces to home décor to food to handmade products to wood designs and much more.
Just a few of the vendors at Family Fun Day include jewelry company The Sweet Magnolia, wood designer Ars Design, handmade hand-warmer artisan Three Feathers, gourmet hummus maker Hanes Hummus, Binbrook baker Code Red Cakes, apparel designer LSJ Creations, and brand-new bamboo baby clothing designer Maeren & Co. among many others.
On top of the shopping, visitors can enjoy other free treats and activities like hot chocolate, cookie decorating, face painting, craft stations, and sensory activities. There will even be a raffle where attendees can enter to win a basket of goodies donated by some of the vendors; and complimentary family photos taken by Erika Matkovich of Matko Photo, with photos emailed to attendees after the event.
With most of their events free to attend and many more on the horizon, The Mom Market has already hosted multiple successful markets in Hamilton, and Family Fun Day is poised to be their best yet!
Check it out with the whole family on Sunday, February 18th from 10 am to 3 pm at the Ancaster Fairgrounds (630 Trinity Road South, Jerseyville).
