This new Hamilton restaurant serves up unique Greek fusion

A new spot for Greek fusion cuisine has opened its doors in Hamilton, and they’ve got a menu that isn’t quite like any other Greek spot in town.

Apllada Greek Fusion is open now at 635 King Street East in the former home of Mississippi Queen Foods, directly beside Aristos Greek Bakery.

The restaurant makes it clear that they want to serve up traditional Greek dishes with modern fusion flourishes while also exposing Hamilton foodies to a wider range of foods than your typical souvlaki or moussaka.

House-baked breads and pitas are on hand here along with a number of shareable meze platters and starters like a classic Tzatziki or the more obscure Taramosalata, which is made from fish roe, olive oil, and onion.

Hearty meat dishes are a menu centrepiece, with a classic chicken souvlaki available alongside Arnaki Lemonato, which sees slow-roasted lamb with a lemon-herb marinade served over rice; or the Biftekia, which has seasoned ground beef patties served with smashed potatoes and a lemon yogurt dip.

Salads, desserts, and pita sandwiches known as Skepasti round things off on a menu that has an abundance of choice and more than a few Greek dishes that many locals may not have ever seen before from a Greek spot in the city.

Check out Apllada Greek Fusion at 635 King Street East to try it all out for yourself!
