Heads up to the local lovers of literature: two branches of the Hamilton Public Library (HPL) are set to close for three months as they undergo some large renovations.
The HPL’s Terryberry and Westdale branches are both closing to the public as of Saturday, April 2nd at 5 pm and will remain closed until summer, including their drop boxes for returned materials.
Both the Terryberry and Westdale Branches are closing for approximately 3 months on Saturday April 2 at 5pm due to renovations.

Terryberry Library will be getting a new roof, HVAC system, and windows as part of the significant renovations. The Westdale branch will also get a new roof and HVAC system as well as program flooring and shelving adjustments.
Hamilton residents who regularly use the library are advised to make use of other branches through the city in the interim, and are able to select an alternate branch to pick up holds by Friday, April 1st.
The closest alternative branches for Terryberry patrons include the Turner Park, Concession, Sherwood, and Ancaster branches. For the Westdale branch, the nearest alternatives are the Locke, Central, and Dundas branches.
