Social media was abuzz in Hamilton last night after a video was posted showing the intersection at Main and MacNab near the MacNab Transit Terminal shut down due to a large police presence.

It turns out an individual climbed on top of a bus then jumped onto a lamppost. Images posted by Twitter users showed a man clutching a lamppost high enough that he could seriously injure himself if he fell or were to jump.
Around 11 pm, Twitter user @ACollinsPhoto posted that Hamilton Police got the man down safely and put him in custody after a seven hour stand-off as they were finding a way to safely get him down.

Emergency vehicles shutdown the roads in the Main and MacNab area for several hours as they were dealing with the incident.
The video also made it to the Hamilton Subreddit where people were following the ongoing situation as details were released by other social media users.
As of Friday morning, there hasn’t been any information released about the man or the incident. But, with speculative Redditors stoking the narrative, people acting bizarrely during a time of crisis is a common situation for the Hamilton Police Department.
