Weekend events in Hamilton July 7-8 2018

Looking for something to do this weekend? Look no further. We’ve found a wide range of events across the city for all ages and interests to enjoy.

Here’s what’s happening in Hamilton this weekend.

Saturday

Air Force Day – Past, Present and Future

Canadian aviation lovers, rejoice!

Come see over 50 aircrafts from Canada’s air force history, ranging from World War I to current models. Explore helicopters, view the vintage collection of military aircrafts, and take a tour inside the beloved Lancaster.

The event takes place at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and runs from 9 am to 5 pm. Air Force Day is free of charge.

Hamilton Craft Brew Cruise

If you love craft beer and boats, you have to check out the Hamilton Craft Brew Cruise.

The folks at the Hamilton Harbour Queen are taking the traditional craft beer festival experience and putting it on board. You will sail for three hours, and you will have access to some of the best local craft brewers and their beer.

Along with the cruise itself, your ticket will get you a commemorative mug and three tokens for 4oz beer samples. Additional tokens will be available for purchase on board.

The cruise runs from 2 to 5 pm and tickets are available for purchase online. This is a 19+ event.

Bonobo at the Royal Botanical Gardens

Visit Hamilton’s Royal Botanical Gardens this Saturday for an unforgettable performance by Bonobo. This rare performance will feature the alchemy of English live-electronica.

The performance will take place at 5:30 pm at the arboretum. Tickets are available online.

Hamilton’s Dark History Tour

Hamilton’s history is full of sinister stories. From terrible reputations, mafia connections, and assassinations, Hamilton has been home to many infamous crimes and criminals.

On Saturday night, let Hamilton Ghost Walks take you on a tour of the city. Learn some of Hamilton’s less talked about history; these stories are too dark for other city tours.

Hamilton’s Dark History Tour begins in the alleyway behind Radius. All ages are welcome, but keep in mind that the subject matter may not be appropriate for everyone. The tour begins at 8:30 pm with tickets available online.

Sunday

Hamilton Zineposium 2018

The Hamilton Zineposium is back at it again for one day only. Come and explore all of the indie-art goodness, from zines, crafts, prints, t-shirts, to so much more.

Whether your style is subtle or out-of-the-box, there is something for everyone to celebrate and enjoy at the Zineposium.

The Zineposium takes place at the Spice Factory between 11 am and 5 pm. This event is fully accessible, inclusive, and free to attend. Make sure to bring your wallet to pick up some goodies!

3rd Annual Assyrian Water Festival of Nusardil

Are you ready for Hamilton’s biggest water balloon fight? Visit T.B. McQuesten Park this Sunday to celebrate the Assyrian Water Festival of Nusardil.

You can expect to get soaked at this free, all-ages event. After the water balloon fight, you can enjoy great live music, shopping, delicious food, and learn traditional Assyrian dances.

The event runs from 12 to 7 pm and all are welcome.

Pop-up Low Country Boil + Smokehouse

We hope you’re hungry, Hamilton. Clifford Brewing Co. is hosting a Low Country Boil and Smokehouse family style pop-up dinner.

The dinner will feature pork shoulders, crawfish, corn bread, blue crab, Andouille sausage, a Cajun boil, smoked appetizers and veggie options. There will be a cash bar available.

The dinner begins at 6:30 pm and tickets are $75 per person. To reserve a ticket, e-mail lunch26@gmail.com.
