Experience Hamilton’s headline-making arts scene at the city’s famous monthly Art Crawls. Stroll through the James North arts district and take in the many galleries, studios, shops, and restaurants that pulse with the rhythm of a truly welcoming, grassroots arts scene. Many venues offer special live music shows. This popular free event is held year-round on the second Friday of every month.

On Remembrance Day we acknowledge the struggle of men and women in their work toward the goal of peace. In honour of this commitment, the Hamilton Military Museum will offer free admission on November 8th, 9th and 10th.

Quirky AF art fair is a curated pop-up art, craft, and design market that hosts talented and avant-garde makers. Hamilton Artists Inc. aims to be a destination for critical, unconventional, and challenging contemporary art practices that contribute to regional and national discourses. As such, the aim of this event is to bring together crafters and designers from across the region, who challenge expectations and take risks with work that is unconventional, experimental, political, or all-around weird and quirky.

The Steel City Jazz Festival was founded by Chris Ferguson and Emily Milko after returning from a trip to the 2012 Detroit Jazz Festival. Maybe it was the result of riding high after seeing both Wayne Shorter and Sonny Rollins perform in one weekend, but Chris and Emily decided to give throwing a jazz festival a try. Preparations started right away and on August 22nd, 2013 the first annual Steel City Jazz Festival began.

The Woolcott Team will be hosting a coat drive to help those in need and to donate to The Good Shepherd Centre in Hamilton. In addition to warm clothing, kitchen essentials are also appreciated to help those who are getting out of the cold.

Leaf the brewing to the RBG and warm up with a hot cup of tea at the 4th Annual Tea Festival. Sample varieties from around the world including green, rooibos, oolong, herbal, and everything in between. Celebrate the classic hot beverage with live performances, special guests offering educational presentations, and experience its cultural origins first-hand with a traditional tea ceremony. Sample different teas and maybe discover a new favourite.

Hot sauce lovers, it’s time to spice up your November! The Hamilton Convention Centre hosts the hottest food fest in Ontario with live cooking demos, free samples of hundreds of hot sauces and condiments, and panel discussions. Try fine hot sauces and condiments on wings, baked pita, vegan chili, or beef patties. Cool down afterward with ice cream and local craft beer. The main stage will offer up entertainment throughout the day. Don’t forget the extreme heat eating competitions including the Guinness World Record breaking attempts for extreme pepper eating and the Eternal Flame hot sauce awards.

The iconic Canadian Brass returns to the place where it all began – here in Hamilton! With a 50-year history and a strong international reputation, Canadian Brass is one of the foremost brass groups of today. In time for Remembrance Day, the brass quintet returns home to join the HPO in a noble salute to our community’s military personnel and their families. From familiar favourites to virtuosic works, this concert promises to be a moving tribute to those who honourably serve our country.

Parade starts on James Street North in front of the John Weir Foote Armoury, travels south on James Street, east on King Street ending at Gore Park where a remembrance service will be observed.

These are short films made by fellow Hamiltonians! This program sold out last year with 300 seats! Only 250 tickets available for this year’s screening so grab them while you can!. Presented in partnership with Hamilton Film Studios.

Kronos is one of North America’s most acclaimed string quartets performs its multi-disciplinary compostion Sun Rings at McMaster University with The Socrates Project. Commissioned by NASA, the music for string quartet and chorus composed by Terry Riley draws from sounds from space and is accompanied by visual design by Willie Williams.
Performances will include the participation of McMaster University and Women’s Choirs.
