Wendel Clark’s on King William has closed

If you’re a sports fan, this one hurts.

Wendel Clark’s Classic Grill and Bar, the sports bar known for their classic pub fare and large screen televisions, has shut its doors for good.

Located on King William Street (along what’s now known as ‘Restaurant Row’), Wendel Clark’s sat on the ground floor corner of the iconic Lister Block.

While rumours were floating as early as the beginning of the year that the bar was considering closing up shop, a notice posted last week on the bar’s front door announced the official closure.

The Hamilton location has since been removed from their website with only four franchise locations left in the entire country. The closest, if you’re wondering, is in Burlington at 380 Brant Street.

No word yet on what’ll replace Wendel Clark’s but chances are very high that we’ll be seeing another restaurant joining the culinary movement at King William.
