If you’re still sitting on piles or packages of leaves, sticks, and other yard waste, this is your last chance to get them to the curb.
The City of Hamilton is reminding locals that its curbside yard waste collection program is coming to an end for 2022, with this current week – December 5th to 9th – being the final week of the winter season.
Residents with yard waste to dispose of can put it at the curb alongside their garbage and recycling on their usual waste pickup day this week.
Curbside yard waste collection ends the week of December 5 to 9 on your specific collection day. Curbside yard waste collection will resume March 6, 2023. Residential yard waste can be taken to a Community Recycling Centre for free all year. https://t.co/Cjv82bLUxv pic.twitter.com/n3psdGwBkv

From there, the city’s yard waste collection program goes on hiatus until March 6th of 2023; however, residents can still bring their yard waste to a City Recycling Centre free of charge year-round.
Yard waste collection ending does not impact the collection of real Christmas trees, which will be collected the first and second weeks of January on residents’ designated garbage pickup days.
