Hamilton’s own Tom Wilson – a legend of the Canadian music scene – is about to premiere an exciting new musical at Theatre Aquarius.
Beautiful Scars, written by Wilson in collaboration with Shaun Smyth, brings Wilson’s best-selling memoir to the stage in a world premiere musical starring some of Canadian theatre’s top talent.
With songs by Wilson, known for fronting iconic Canadian bands including Junkhouse and Lee Harvey Osmond, Beautiful Scars traces a young Tom Wilson’s journey of self-discovery as he uncovers a family secret that reveals his Mohawk ancestry and identity.
This moving, evocative new musical is directed by Theatre Aquarius’ artistic director Mary Francis Moore with music direction by Bob Foster and stars Sheldon Elter as Tom Wilson alongside a cast including Thompson Wilson, Kristi Hansen, Brandon McGibbon, Valerie Planche, Jeremy Proulx, and Phil Davis.
Beautiful Scars is the final production of Theatre Aquarius’ 2023/2024 mainstage season, and it’s poised to be a major event for theatre and music lovers alike! Don’t miss it.
