5 movie scenes that made me go “I KNOW THAT PLACE!”

Robocop (2014)

In this scene, Robocop is skimming through his video database, watching clips of his distressed family before hitting the brakes on his motorcycle right in front of the Hamilton Public Library, Central Branch on York Boulevard. Coppley Apparel is just to his right.

X-Men (2000)

Almost the entire train station scene was shot inside and in front of  LiUNA Station on James North. In fact, the production company actually paid for the trees to be planted in the garden in order to hide the houses on Murray Street.

Kick Ass (2009)

When I saw this frame, I had a huge “I KNOW THAT PLACE” moment… It took me a minute before realizing it was a parking lot on King William Street, across the road from Baltimore House.

Silent Hill (2006)

It sure doesn’t look like this anymore, but these deeply disturbing scenes set in a hotel were actually filmed inside the Listerblock on the corner of James North and King William before it was restored in 2011.

American Pie Presents: Naked Mile (2006)

If any of you McMaster students have gone streaking on campus, you’re not alone. A lot of the Naked Mile‘s campus scenes were shot at McMaster. Remember that when you’re sitting in front of the disciplinary board.
