Beanermunky Chocolate is closing up shop in Waterdown

Waterdown is about to get a little less sweet, as artisanal chocolatier Beanermunky Chocolate has announced a formal closure date for their storefront in town.

Beanermunky’s Waterdown location at 17 Main Street South announced via Instagram today that the store’s lease ends in April.

“It is with a great deal of sadness that I announce our sister shop in Waterdown will close on April 18th, 2020,” says Beanermunky owner and chocolatier Lori Eisenberger in her Instagram post.

A delicious Hamilton-area fixture with two separate locations in Waterdown and Dundas, Beanermunky is known for its decadent variety of artisan chocolates and truffles made in-house with exquisite and tantalizing ingredients.

The chocolatier’s roots begin at the Hamilton Farmers’ Market in 2005, with eventual moves to exclusive Dundas and Waterdown storefront spaces in 2011 and 2015, respectively. On top of selling some of the city’s best chocolates, Beanermunky also hosted classes and workshops in their Waterdown location.

Luckily, the sad news does not at all mean the end for Beanermunky Chocolate; their Dundas location, just a 15 minute drive from the Waterdown spot, is still going strong and will still remain open to provide locals with their sugar fixes.
