Final Hamilton location of chicken wing chain closes its doors

A prominent chicken wing chain just closed its final Hamilton location.

Buffalo Wild Wings made the news in May when they suddenly shuttered most of their Ontario locations – including a Hamilton location at Centennial Parkway – leaving just a few still standing.

One of those few remaining locations was the Buffalo Wild Wings at 1015 Golf Links Road in the Ancaster Meadowlands; but now, mere weeks later, that too has abruptly closed down.

That said, Hamilton is hardly starved for chicken wing options: the city has numerous spots specializing in the familiar game day dish, from independent joints to larger chains.

The Buffalo Wild Wings website now lists only three Ontario locations – the freshly closed Golf Links location, as well as two in Mississauga and Windsor that are apparently still open.

No word yet on how long those two remaining Ontario locations will stay open, but we wonder if this trend of closures will continue.

Open since 1982, Buffalo Wild Wings is an American sports bar chain that has grown to over 1,200 locations in the United States alone. The restaurant is known for its chicken wings, sandwiches, wraps, share plates, salads, and more.
