Whether being gluten free is a lifestyle choice or a dietary need, a special expo happening in Hamilton this month will be right up your alley.
Gluten Free Goodness Expo returns to Ancaster Fairgrounds on Sunday, March 24th from 10 am to 4 pm to build on the success of their very popular fall market.
Visitors can expect much of what made the last expo such a hit, with over 50 local and regional vendors specializing in products that are gluten free and celiac friendly, from food & drink to personal care products.
New and returning vendors for the spring market include soup & smoked meat shop Soups From Me To You, meadery & apiary Backed By Bees, Robyn’s Gluten-Free Baking Courses, Colombian coffee grower Delicious All Day Coffee, gluten-free pastry maker Joanie’s Pastries, award winning hot sauce maker Mojo Peppa Sauce, vegan and gluten-free café Planted in Hamilton, crystal bracelet designer Purabeada, and small batch beef jerky producer Better Bovine among many others.
On top of take-home fare, many vendors will be offering up free samples, and visitors can purchase made-to-order samplings of celiac-friendly bites like pierogis from Pierogi Me, crepes from Molly B’s, mini-pancakes from Instantly Yours, Brazilian steak sandwiches from Manna BCP, Dutch Bitterballen from Hart & Ziel, and beyond.
“It’s a gluten free feast!” says Jackie Fenton, founder and organizer for Gluten Free Goodness Expo.
Taking place ahead of Easter weekend, many vendors will be offering Easter pre-orders, so attendees can contact them in advance and pick up their deliciousness at the expo.
Tickets to Gluten Free Goodness are just $6 – with free admission for those 12 and under – and Celiac Canada will be accepting non-perishable food donations for their ‘Save Me for Gluten Free’ food drive to combat food insecurity for those with gluten-free needs.
It’s going to be a stacked event with plenty to see and taste, so check out Gluten Free Goodness Expo on Sunday, March 24th from 10 am to 4 pm at the Ancaster Fairgrounds and support local!
