Hamilton bakery Crumbuns is closing its doors

A gem in Hamilton’s bakery scene has announced that it is sadly, suddenly closing its doors.

Crumbuns Bakeshop, located at 566 Concession Street, has been a Hamilton Mountain fixture for sweet treats for the past seven years.

Owner and baker Joanne Emberson built Crumbuns into one of the city’s most popular bakeries since launching in 2016, known for tempting desserts like cheesecake jars, cookies, cakes, squares, and tarts; including the indulgent butter tart ice cream sandwiches.

However, Emberson posted a notice on the Crumbuns Instagram account on Thursday morning explaining that the bakery would be closed until further notice. Mere hours later, a follow-up post revealed that Crumbuns is permanently closing.

“We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, love and loyal support over the past 7 years. We are grateful to each and every one of you,” wrote Emberson.

“This chapter has been a dream come true and each moment, smile and friendship made will always be cherished.”

A specific reason for Crumbuns sudden closure hasn’t been made public, but it appears to be effective immediately.
