New spot for oysters and seafood opens in Hamilton

Seafood lovers, take note: a cozy new spot for fine oysters and other underwater delicacies has opened its doors in Hamilton.

Well, calling it ‘new’ is only partly correct. This is the first brick & mortar location for Maisy’s Pearl, a popular Hamilton pop-up for oysters and more first launched by David Burns in 2019.

After a few years of shucking oysters at markets, festivals, and breweries, Maisy’s Pearl has settled into more permanent digs at 342 Barton Street East: the corner storefront that most recently held confectionary shop Hello Baked.

Visitors can expect a stacked menu of shareable dishes like shrimp cocktails, tuna tartare, New Haven clam pizza, daily oyster selections, and a seafood-forward take on charcuterie called a ‘seaboard’.

Then there are the attractive mains with dishes like lobster rolls, scallops & crackling crumble, mussels, and Maryland crab cakes. But even those who don’t eat seafood won’t be left out, with options including a King Oyster mushroom “marrow” or a red wine braised short rib with garlic mash and pickled carrot.

Desserts, craft beer, wine, and spirits round out the menu at Maisy’s Pearl, which is already earning top marks from locals. Check them out at 342 Barton Street East and indulge!
