A staple in the heart of Downtown Hamilton for delicious pub-style comfort food, great live music, and good vibes is finding a fresh life under new management.
Stonewalls Restaurant – located at 339 York Boulevard steps away from key landmarks like Jackson Square and FirstOntario Centre – has been a local favourite since 2010, known for its approachable menu of sandwiches, burgers, tacos, chicken wings, and shareable appetizers as well as its reputation as a popular music venue.
For years, the spacious, casual restaurant and bar has drawn crowds of locals to share a few pints of draft beer and a platter of loaded nachos while enjoying sporting events and lively concerts by popular artists from Hamilton and beyond, including Jack de Keyzer, Gordon Bamford, Birds of Bellwoods, and countless others.
With new owners taking over operations at Stonewalls as of October, Hamiltonians can expect a mix of everything they know and love about the pub and music venue along with some new twists and additions.
Repairs and renovations to the space are currently underway, and Stonewalls will also be gradually rolling out new food items on their menu, bringing out some new dishes to try in the coming weeks while maintaining old mainstays.
Similarly, forthcoming lineups of live music will still heavily feature all the styles and genres that are typical of Stonewalls like country, blues, classic rock, and tribute bands while adding some diverse styles to the mix like energetic Salsa nights (including the one happening this Friday, November 10th with live music by Ricardo Barboza & Band), tropical dance parties, and more.
It seems like a strong mix of familiar favourites and fresh fare as Stonewalls reaches a new phase of its life in Hamilton as a fixture of both the food and the live music scenes!
Stonewalls is open each week from Thursday to Saturday from 5 pm to Midnight, and Sunday from 2 pm to 10 pm.
