Hamilton-based video game developer Sharp End Studio was just named the winner of Downtown Hamilton BIA’s Win This Space contest, which includes a large prize of up to $30,000.
An annual contest for Hamilton’s small businesses and entrepreneurs that operate outside of the downtown core, Win This Space grants its winner the opportunity to relocate their business to the Downtown Hamilton BIA, with up to $30,000 awarded towards leasing an eligible office space.

The highly competitive pool of submissions was whittled down by jury to three finalists, which included Sharp End Studio, Hub of the Hammer, and The 3rd Realm.
The selections were made through a rigorous multi-level process including video submission, interview, and a business plan presentation.
As winner of this prestigious award, video game developing company Sharp End Studio – best known for designing a new game titled Valiant Effort in collaboration with the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum – will be leasing space with Wilson Blanchard Management at 20 Hughson Street South.
But that’s not all! As part of the live award announcement on March 10th at local restaurant 33 Bowen, an additional announcement was made for a new contest called Win Free Rent, which will allow a second opportunity for a local Hamilton business to also win free rent for office space in the Downtown Hamilton BIA.
Interested businesses can submit through the Downtown Hamilton BIA website.
