Hamilton will continue to see warm winter weather into 2020

The snowy weather outside today may not tell the same story, but reports say that Hamilton will still be in for some unseasonably warm winter weather heading into 2020.

After a snowless, green Christmas in Hamilton with discordantly mild temperatures, much of the final week of 2019 has seen similar conditions, with more rain on the ground than snow. And let’s face it, rain angels are way less fun to make than snow angels.

Going forward, weather conditions won’t be much different, according to reports from Environment Canada. A light dusting of inconsequential snow flurries were predicted for New Year’s Eve and Day, but not nearly enough to accumulate or stick around on the ground.

After that, clear skies and sunny days are predicted, with temperatures steadily hovering around 4 to 6 degrees Celsius throughout the rest of the week; not necessarily uncommon, but also not quite the early-January weather Hamiltonians might expect.

The un-winter-like period probably won’t last long, however; by this coming weekend, a 60% chance of snow flurries is predicted with a temperature drop to -1 degrees Celsius. Maybe those toboggans won’t have to stay in storage after all!
