James North shop for mid-century furniture is closing its doors

A Hamilton favourite for mid-century furniture and other unique vintage and antique finds is closing the doors of its cozy James North shop.
Chaises Musicales first opened at 152 James Street North – near the corner of James North and Cannon – back in 2010 and has since been a popular spot on the strip for its ever-changing array of unique furniture pieces, décor, vinyl, films, and used books.
The shop was also a spot for furniture finding: if a customer had a certain furniture piece in mind that wasn’t in the store, Chaises Musicales would do the work to track down the closest match.
However, after a solid 14 years in business, Chaises Musicales has announced that it will be closing its doors on James North in June of this year.
“I’m beginning a new adventure on the Atlantic coast so please take the time and pay me a visit before I leave,” wrote owner Jeremiah in a social media post. “Thank you Hamilton for letting me know ya’.”
The shop has put everything on sale for 30 per cent off from now until their closure in June. Pop by for one last visit and grab a treasure or two!
