New artisan chocolate shop is opening in Dundas

The lovely Downtown Dundas strip will soon get a new shop for handmade, artisanal chocolates.

Genesis Chocolate Company is preparing to open its doors at 97 King Street West in Dundas, where it will serve up a wide assortment of tempting handmade chocolates, truffles, and other confectionary.

Owner and chocolatier Alysha brings plenty of skills and knowledge to this new small business. She is a graduate of the Baking and Pastry program at Niagara College, and subsequently trained as a professional chocolatier at Vancouver’s Ecole Chocolat, where she graduated with honours.

Though firm opening details are still to come, a sneak peek of the bonbon flavours to be expected at Genesis has been posted on their social media with options including banana bread, cardamom caramel, hazelnut gianduja, rosemary & pear, Fuzzy Peach, cinnamon & honey, Nanaimo, and more.

The shop will also feature vegan chocolate options, and other handmade treats like sour keys, licorice, pretzels, and beyond.

It’s the perfect time to bring a new chocolate shop to Downtown Dundas with the town’s former mainstay chocolatier – Beanermunky Chocolate – sadly closing its doors earlier this fall.

While we still don’t know precisely when Genesis Chocolate Company will open, efforts to get it to the finish line are well underway and we can’t wait to follow their progress!
