New No Frills to open on Hamilton Mountain

Ready to get the frill out of your bill, Hamilton? A new No Frills is set to open on Hamilton Mountain in 2019.
The 38,000-square-foot store will be located at Rymal Road and Upper Sherman. The grocery store will be an anchor tenant for a new shopping centre.
Choice Properties REIT, controlled by Loblaw Co., received a $6-million building permit earlier this year for the 51,000-square-foot shopping centre. The permit includes the new grocery store, as well as a collection of other stores.
While specific tenants cannot be confirmed at this time, it is anticipated that storefronts featured in the shopping centre will include restaurants and medical services.
The inclusion of another grocer will offer stiff competition to the other stores in the area. Down the street at Rymal Road and Upper Gage is Freshco, while Food Basics is situated at Rymal Road and Upper Wentworth.
The new shopping centre and grocery store will provide more variety for Hamiltonians living in the area, as well as new jobs. Students from St. Jean de Brebeuf and the future Nora Frances Henderson high school will also receive more options for food on their lunch break.
