Pregnant people can now get their COVID-19 vaccine in Hamilton

Heads up: pregnant people are now eligible to book an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine in Hamilton.

It’s a result of the Ontario government’s move to add pregnant individuals to Phase Two of the province’s vaccine rollout plan; a response to emerging data regarding a potential higher risk of severe illness for pregnant folks infected with COVID-19.

“In response to emerging data on the increased risk of severe illness for pregnant women, all pregnant individuals will be eligible to register for vaccination appointments under the highest risk health conditions in the Phase 2 prioritization guidance starting today,” reads a statement from the province.

Effectively immediately, persons of any age who are pregnant and have not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19 can book their appointments by calling the province’s hotline at 1-888-999-6588.

The province’s online booking tool has also been revised to reflect this new eligibility.
