Salty Espresso and Merit Brewing are hosting a BBQ to raise money for Australia

This coming weekend, Hamiltonians will have the chance to eat some great food and support a great cause at the same time.

James North craft beer spot Merit Brewing and the beloved Corktown coffee shop Salty Espresso are joining forces to host an Australia Day BBQ Fundraiser in support of the Rural Fire Services working to fight the ongoing devastation of the bushfires in Australia.

From 9 am to 4 pm on Sunday January 26th, Hamiltonians can pop by Salty Espresso in-person for a fix of delicious, locally-made, small-batch sausage provided by Merit Brewing. All sales from those sausages will go directly to helping out a country currently very much in need.

The initiative has particular resonance for Salty Espresso owners Dahlia Ishak and Ray Turner, who themselves are from Australia and working to play a role in supporting their former home and community in a time of crisis.

Not a meat eater? Not to worry; Salty and Merit are ensuring they have some vegetarian options on hand, so even the non-carnivorous can grab a bite and lend a hand.

It’s going to be a delicious day in support of an important cause, so head down to Salty Espresso this weekend and help make this fundraiser a success!

The Australia Day BBQ Fundraiser, facilitated by Salty Espresso and Merit Brewing, takes place on Sunday January 26th from 9 am to 4 pm at Salty Espresso (175 John St. South).
