Scrumptious Southern comfort food on the Hamilton Mountain? Count me in!
Not long after longstanding Hamilton food truck The Dirty South opened up its first brick & mortar location at the corner of Barton and James North, the foodie favourite has announced that it will be opening a second location up on Concession Street.
One of numerous food ventures under The Social Event Group umbrella, The Dirty South’s location on Concession Street will be taking over the space that was originally planned to hold The Daily, another hotly-anticipated Social Event Group eatery.
However, with the complications of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Daily will instead open later in a different Concession location and The Dirty South will open up another restaurant in its place once pandemic restrictions lift and restaurants are once again fully safe to patronize.
Offering delicious, elevated, and twisty takes on Southern-style favourites like fried chicken & waffles, pulled pork tacos, and pulled jackfruit mac ‘n cheese, The Dirty South’s original food truck has been a curbside staple at festivals and events since 2012.
When the popular Hamilton brand opened up a storefront earlier this year, they were readily embraced by the community; foodies regularly head over get their fix from a menu with something for everyone from carnivore to vegan.
The team at The Dirty South has even used their kitchen to give back to Hamilton’s essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing hundreds of hot meals to places like hospitals and long-term care centres to feed the frontlines.
An amazing Southern spot run by amazing people, more of The Dirty South in Hamilton is very, very far from a bad thing!
The Dirty South Restaurant’s second location will eventually be opening at 590 Concession Street on the Hamilton Mountain. Until then, check out their OG spot at 10 Barton Street East, which is currently open for pickup and delivery.
