The Local Life in Dundas has closed

One of Dundas’ favourite spots for one-of-a-kind handmade finds by local artists and artisans has officially closed its doors.

The Local Life, which also has sister locations in Port Dalhousie and in Hamilton on Locke Street, had established itself as a Dundas shopping staple from its storefront right beside The Urban Vine on the downtown strip. The storefront is in the midst of being replaced by Webber’s Balloons + Cards + Collectibles.

The shop acted as a cozy brick & mortar hub for local artists, designers, and artisans with handmade products to display in person and offer for sale, including jewelry, clothing & apparel, handmade soaps, greeting cards, home décor, and beyond.

“We’ve had to make the very difficult decision to close in Dundas. Our last day open is this Friday February 7th,” said The Local Life in their announcement on social media, adding that the storefront would continue to be used for pop-ups and workshops until another tenant takes over their lease.

While the Dundas store’s closure is a sad one, the happy news is that The Local Life’s locations in Port Dalhousie and on Locke Street remain open for all of your #shoplocal needs!
