The newest fair on the market

Founded in 2013 by Melissa Lowry, Makeology started as an online group aimed at bringing together like-minded makers of things. Over the last two years it has grown into a community rich with well over 850+ amazingly talented artists from all over the world, who support, encourage, and help one another. As the group grew, so did the interest in organizing a fair for to showcase and sell their creations. With that, the hunt for venues began; we knew we wanted a place rich in character and ambiance. When we came across the Cotton Factory we immediately knew it was perfect for the Makeology fair. Many creative professionals call this historic building home.

The Makeology Fair will be a one-day event, held on April 16th where a selection of some of the most skilled makers showcase and sell their unique work under one roof. It is a great opportunity to encourage tourism and build new customer relationships while supporting local small businesses, something that is extremely important to us. It’s your chance to meet and support these talented artisans and have the opportunity to purchase handmade and one-of-a-kind items. We have a diverse group of vendors, each with their own style and craft. Each maker was carefully selected by a jury panel—resulting in the best possible curated show. Quality, creativity and above all craftsmanship are just some of the qualities Makeology looks for. The caliber of their products and their large number of followers speak volumes. We hope to bring in lots of handmade enthusiasts and provide them with a unique shopping experience. Makeology will donate a dollar from each entrance fee to 541 Eatery’s Button Exchange program which aids those who may not be able to afford a meal or warm beverage. 541 Eatery is an establishment offering fresh, homemade meals and baked goods in the heart of Hamilton. An important element of our mandate is to give back to the local community and what better way to do so than to contribute to this amazing cause.
