A lively concert featuring the music of one of Canada’s most celebrated rock bands will be igniting the stage in Hamilton for one night only.
Practically Hip – a Tragically Hip tribute band that’s been packing the house across North America for 25 years – is set to perform at Carmens Event Centre (1520 Stone Church Road East) on Friday, February 23rd at 7 pm.
Headed by band frontman Dean Hughes channeling the late, great Gord Downie while accompanied by a skilled five-piece band, the evening promises thrilling renditions of all your favourite Tragically Hip hits and deep cuts, drawing from their extensive catalogue of music.
The tribute band works hard at closely capturing the experience of seeing The Hip live, from the closely matched covers to the banter between songs that this legendary Canadian band is known for. It’s the next best thing to seeing the actual band in the flesh, and Canadian music fans won’t want to miss it.
“Carmens is always striving to create extraordinary experiences for our community, so we are very excited to be able to bring a tribute to one of Canada’s most treasured musical acts to the City of Hamilton!” says Carmens.
The concert has been brought to Hamilton as part of Carmens Live: a series of live performances – from concerts to comedy and beyond – that will take the stage at this popular venue on the Hamilton Mountain.
Other events upcoming include Joe & Mary’s Wedding on March 2nd: an immersive piece of comedic dinner theatre that thrusts the audience into the middle of one chaotic wedding – including a four-course dinner and dancing, of course!
After that, there’s also an improv show by comedy duo The Portuguese Kids on March 16th, and a sure-to-be-popular Teenage Head 50th Anniversary Homecoming Party on April 6th.
With the Practically Hip’s hotly anticipated concert kicking off this 2024 lineup of shows, it’s clear Carmens Event Centre is working to bring an eclectic variety of live performances to Hamilton audiences. Don’t miss out!
