The Gretzky family contacted local police in August after they noticed that some important pieces from the hockey player’s career had disappeared.
Some of the items that were taken include game-used sticks, hockey gloves, pants, jerseys, and a Wayne Gretzky player of the year award.
Investigators believe that many pieces have been sold at auction to collectors across the country.
A man from Oakville and woman from Brockville have both been charged with fraud over $5,000.
The Brantford police says that the investigation is ongoing.
