Green Day announced as Grey Cup halftime show hosted in Hamilton

They woke up when September ended and they’re on their way to Hamilton.

Green Day, the acclaimed multi-award-winning American rock band responsible for some of the most iconic albums of the past three decades, has been announced as the Halftime Show for the 110th Grey Cup, taking place at Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field on November 19th.

Fronted by Billie Joe Armstrong, the band is best known for their landmark record American Idiot and countless hit songs including Holiday, 21 Guns, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and Basket Case.

“You better be ready because we’re about to turn the Grey Cup green and into the loudest f****** night in CFL history!” says the band in an announcement from the CFL.

The 110th Grey Gup in Hamilton will be preceded by multiple days of events, concerts, and other fun courtesy of the Grey Cup Festival. Recently, it was announced that country superstar Carrie Underwood will be taking the stage at FirstOntario Centre as part of the festivities.

Tickets for the 110 Grey Cup are still available, and the event will be broadcast live on November 19th.
