There’s going to be a free screening of It’s a Wonderful Life in Hamilton

This weekend, an all-time seminal classic of holiday cinema is screening right here in Hamilton in one of the city’s most beautiful venues. Better still? It’s free to attend.

The Hammer’s gorgeously restored Playhouse Cinema, which has become one of Hamilton’s go-to spots for independent film, is hosting two free community screenings of It’s a Wonderful Life, the 1947 Frank Capra-helmed holiday classic that, despite its initial box office failure, has become a staple of screens everywhere for every holiday season since its original premiere.

With this special event in the cozy, vintage, old-fashioned feel of the Playhouse, Hamiltonians can watch It’s a Wonderful Life in a nostalgic way you just can’t get from your couch and flat screen TV at home.

While the screenings are free to attend, the Playhouse is granting admission by donation of a non-perishable or canned good in support of Hamilton Food Share, a deeply important local organization that really makes a difference for less fortunate Hamilton families who might struggle this time of year.

It’s a feel-good film event for a feel-good cause, so reserve your tickets now for these special screenings before they fill up!

It’s a Wonderful Life screens at the Playhouse Cinema on Saturday December 21st at 4:30 pm and again on Sunday December 22nd at 1:55 pm. Admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item for Hamilton Food Share.

Spots are filling quickly, so reserve yours here now.
