Two Hamilton restaurants land on list of Top 25 in Ontario

Canadian wine and lifestyle magazine VineRoutes just released its list of the Top 25 Restaurants in Ontario, and two standout spots from Hamilton made the cut.

Edgewater Manor in Stoney Creek is the first local entry on the list, a fine dining experience known for its elegant historic mansion setting and a menu that favours steak and seafood selections served alongside a well curated assortment of wine, beer, and hand-crafted cocktails.

The second is the renowned Quatrefoil in Downtown Dundas, a homey French-Canadian bistro offering up seasonally-inspired, contemporary cuisine that has garnered a growing list of awards and honours.

Other restaurants on the list come from cities and regions like Toronto, Prince Edward County, and Niagara-on-the-Lake, with cuisines ranging from Italian to French to eclectic menus crafted in harmony with local, seasonal agriculture.

Hamilton’s food scene has been gaining notoriety in recent years, so it’s unsurprising to see two of our treasured local spots get some deserved recognition!

Have you visited Edgewater Manor or Quatrefoil? Are there other Hamilton restaurants you’d add to the list? Let us know in the comments!

We had dinner at Edgewater Manor on August 3rd. Magnificent setting and gardens. We had to ask for a drink before dinner, my partner asked for a second. The menu arrived, we shared Bruschetta, very well presented but didn’t taste anything like bruschetta. His salmon dinner was dry, he ate half, my rack of lamb looked delectable and cooked medium rare but the pieces of fat and sinus I had to remove from my mouth and my rack of lamb was far from mouth watering and tender. We were never given the opportunity to order wine. Staff of two serving, no time customer service. Extremely disappointed.
